Life is difficult, sometimes more difficult than you think you can handle... But, guess what? You can handle it... all of it! You have the power to change your state of mind. Isn't that amazing? Let me say that again in a different way... YOU have the POWER to allow yourself to be happy or to let yourself be sad/angry/frustrated/defeated/etc. Most of us don't think we have the tools to change our state... but we do! It is up to us, not to anyone (or anything) else. Sometimes, when something makes us upset, we play the victim and stay in the negative space. And what's worse, we repeat this same cycle over and over again, it is exhausting! All of this is a waste of time and negative energy. Instead of stepping out of our comfort zone and putting an end to it, we relive it.
We all have the same 24 hours in the day, CHOOSE to spend them wisely. Take control of yourself and your life and BE AWARE of your emotions. In a self-proclaimed funk? Interrupt your pattern. Don't be stubborn about it either! Be kind to yourself and allow it to happen. Start by smiling, :) then pick yourself up and change your state. DECIDE that it is going to be okay. Really try to figure out what the root of the "issue" is and be honest about it. Then, make a plan and make it better. Take control. Self-awareness is a huge tool to your success in personal self-worth and overall happiness!
These same principles can be applied in every aspect of your life. In Boot Camp Babes, we work on changing ourselves from the inside out. Sure, I love being a trainer and I provide all of the workouts, macros instructions, prep ideas, etc... BUT if my clients are not in the correct state of mind, it is not going to work. I am not interested in helping someone find a quick fix on the scale. In fact, we don't focus on the scale at all. What I am interested in, is igniting a spark. Something that resonates from within and is life changing. You shouldn't be interested in putting a bandaid on an emotional issue either. Stare at it right in the face and tackle it. Change it into something positive and don't look back.
Here are a couple before and after photos of myself. What you can't see is the emotional change in these pictures. That far outweighs the physical transformation! Working on your diet and exercising is great! But, the real work comes from your state of mind. For all of you out there always searching for that perfect workout program or the best macros coach, I encourage you to start looking in the mirror, do some self-reflecting about WHY you want to begin a fitness journey. THEN do the research to find the best fit for you. That person is not going to do the work for you, dig deep and get your mind right. Each journey that begins with positive energy from within will end with an amazing transformation!
